Discover 2007's New Fashion Style

Every year around this time all the Glam and Style magazines are a buzz as to what the designers unveiled at "fashion week". 2007 seems to be no exception, as women everywhere want to know what fabrics, textures, colors and accessories are hot. Although spring has just begun, this article will discuss the new fashion styles already exploding on the scene.

With so many fashion designers out there, they don't always seem to agree on all the new fashion styles presented on the runway. One thing they do agree on is the "preppy/prissy look". To achieve this look, wear an Oxford shirt with either a tennis skirt (Yes! They are back in style) or a mini skirt (but not too MINI, so where as each step you take reveals what God gave you). If you really want to achieve this look, add a color coordinated tailored blazer. Topping the look off with a pair of strappy or chuncky sandals. For the more athletic look, wear a bright colored tank tee with a fresh pair of cool sneakers.

Another unanimous inclusion to this year's fashion style is embellishment. Done the wrong way and embellished clothing spells DISASTER. The way to avoid this is by finding monochromatic pieces. This meaning clothing with diamond studs, beads, etcetera with a single color. Favorites the designers love are silver, copper and bronze. Most popular are the blouses or dresses adorned with crystals, beads or even edgy studs that move freely and flow fashionably on the body. When you find a blouse or a dress that is simply "to die for", go for the total "glam look" by adding a pair of strappy or chunky high heels and a matching handbag.

Patent leather has resurfaced as another hot material. It's popping up on more than just accessories this season. You can find patent leather coats, skirts, purses and shoes. The "new patent leather" gives a boost of high gloss finish anywhere it presents itself. However, you must keep in mind to make sure to keep it simple when wearing this material, so not to have it clash with other textures that are also on the scene.

Finally, the finishing touch....accessories. Statement jewels are all the rave this season. Showing up on everyone who is anyone, from New York, NY to Milan. Bangles on one or both wrists will make any ensemble you put on, sizzle with pizazz! (Most designers recommend gold, it never goes out of style) If bangles aren't for you, you may feel more comfortable in a big bold necklace with matching earrings (something with spring colors that compliment what you are wearing). Embellished handbags are always a bonus.

These are just SOME of the new fashion styles hitting all major and minor department stores worldwide. With all the different designers, styles, prints, textures and colors, it's enough to have you feeling overwhelmed. With a little time and practice, you be able to pick out the perfect ensemble and accessories in an instant! A guarantee to feel as beautiful as you will look!!

The Evolution of Fashion Styles

Who doesn't have a favourite fashion style? Surely everyone can look back to a time in history and just admire the style of clothes worn at that time. I know I do.

My personal favourite fashion styles are a throwback to the thirties when men's suits were evolved to create the perception of a large torso. The shoulders were squared using wadding or believe it or not, shoulder pads and the sleeves were tapered to the wrist. Smart peaked lapels framed the v-shaped chest and added additional breadth to the wide shoulders. This was a period that also saw the rise in popularity of the double breasted suit the suit that developed into the modern business suit.

This was a time when men's suits were masculine and elegant with jackets with long, broad lapels, two, four or six buttons, square shoulders and vent less tails. A generous cut, long pair of trousers completed the look.

Enough of my favourites.

Every decade has brought along new more adventurous fashion styles, usually on the heels of shift in the social climate of the day.

Probably my least favourite fashion style was during the 80's when the clothing styles mirrored the culture of the day in what for me was a very self centred decade. The attitude was one of bold aggression and clothes that didn't make a bold statement just didn't make the grade. It is absolutely no surprise that not only were the fashions bold and aggressive, the middle of the 80' also saw the launch of Dior's Poison, in itself a very bold and aggressive perfume favoured by the so called powerful power suited businesswomen at the time. For me a very forgettable decade.

You can't really talk about fashion style without mentioning the sixties. The sixties was probably the most revolutionary decade in living memory. The war in Vietnam brought about a sea change in public thinking with a whole generation turning its back on aggressive imperialism. The upshot was a wave of peace demonstrations where the notion of love and peace were embraced by a very enthusiastic and willing audience. The hippy styles of the sixties were a blatant snub to the conformity of the previous decade with flowers, colour and a return to basics.

What Will Be the Fashion Style Shoes in 2010 Spring and Summer?

The fashion depends on the mood of the people,' the director of the famous Italy brand Valentino answered in a interview.

Globally, the design style and fashion trends of clothes and shoes are closely related to the fashion capital French and Italy which are the representative of world fashion and culture. But the fashion culture derived from the people's unconscious psychic reflection about the world. After 911, the cool colors become the fashionable in the world. Moreover, the style became dignified. And the black color of clothes and shoes become popular in America just from then on. In the 1980s when China was just carrying out the policy of reforms and open-up, the flared trousers were very popular in China. All of these could reflect that the fashion and culture is the mirror of people's mental attitude. Besides, the economic situation of the district and the local consumption habits will also affect the fashion trends of apparel and footwear.

After the Iraq, the international political situation became stable. And the world economy developed more smoothly. So the people may be in good mood again, and will pay more attention to the quality of life and to enjoy life. Therefore, the avant-garde, bold and enthusiastic styles became very popular since 2005. The warm color has been popular these years, such pink, light green etc. As for the material, mainly are delicate silk, cotton textiles. The fashion colors of women's shoes and clothes form a perfect match. Beige and light yellow will become the popular color for 2010 spring and summer sandals. The pointed-toe boxlouboutin shoes will be popular. As for the styles, the stiletto heels and the flat shoes will be the fashion styles at the same time! Just to meet the consumer's different needs of both fashionable and comfortable. And the material of shoes is mainly calfskin with rubber soles. And the Crystal-heels will begin to carry on this summer.

In fact, popular and fashion style maybe not the best for you. In other words, if you walk in the street, seeing everyone wear the same style red sole shoes, do you think that will be beautiful? So in my opinion, the popular and fashion trend could just be used as a reference. Just remember that the fashion and hot style shoes and clothes might not be suitable for you. But the ones suitable for you will always be popular, just to my mind!

Fashion Styling Courses

There are various fashion styling courses that are offered to future stylists who want to pursue a career in the fashion industry. These courses provide candidates with in-depth knowledge on various subjects that may include nail care, hair care, hair styling, personal care, wardrobe selection and garment selection.

Budding stylists who are interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry can either opt for a 2 year Associate Degree Course in Fashion Designing or they can opt for a 4 year Associate Degree Course in Fashion Designing. Both these courses help future stylists understand various aspects of personal styling and also understand how the industry works. In addition to getting knowledge about the chosen path, these courses also teach the future stylist various other things such as how to develop contacts and how to keep clients happy.

Since there are many reputed training institutes that offer fashion styling courses, future stylists should consider various aspects before joining an institute. Some of the aspects that should be considered include the quality of training, internship, placement and future job opportunities. Aspiring stylists who are interested in getting job experience should look for fashion styling courses that also offer internship programs since these programs allow stylists to get hands on experience. The main benefit of an internship program is that most places that offer internship programs allow candidates to make a few unintentional mistakes as part of the learning procedure. These inevitable mistakes often prevent future stylists from making similar mistakes in the future.

The two types of fashion styling courses that are offered to future stylists who want to become personal stylists are virtual courses and face to face courses. Face to face courses are usually preferred by most people who have access to institutes that offer these courses since such seminars allow candidates to get hands on experience and practice while learning.

Although face to face courses have various benefits, many people opt for virtual courses for various reasons. Virtual courses are ideal for people who do not have enough time to attend face to face courses or live in a location that is far away from institutes that offer face to face courses. Some fashion styling institutes also offer blended seminars that allow candidates to enter both face to face seminars and virtual seminars. Blended seminars are considered to be ideal for future stylists who want to get both hands on experience and want to save time while learning the art of styling.

How to Have Your Own Unique Fashion Style

Are you ready to break out and find your very own fashion style? Everyone has his or her own unique fashion sense. Don't just blindly follow the trends set by someone else. Here are some tips for you to help you search for the fashion that speaks of who you are.

First and foremost, to be able to make a fashion statement about yourself, it is important that you figure out your personality. Are you the fun, quirky type, the serious "brainy" type, or the athletic type? There are many different types of personalities, and discovering who you are will most definitely pave the way to discovering your own fashion style.

Go through your closet and separate the clothes you want to keep and those that you don't. Check out the clothes you want to keep because they may help you in choosing the style that you want to have. At this point, you can either create a style that is based on your current clothes, or create one that is entirely new.

Be creative! Do not just think of fashion based on the norm or the current trend. Remember you're making a fashion statement about yourself, so be brave and try different match-ups even if your friends may think it's strange. Remember that not everything you try would be perfect. But at least you can learn from those errors and then improve because of them.

Choose colors and patterns that you think represent who you are. Having a signature color or pattern might make things easier for you when choosing your style or fashion. Use different accessories to compliment the clothes you wear. A simple accessory such as a bandana can define your style if you use it the right way.

It's also not a bad idea to study different styles, not to copy them but to get different ideas from different stylists. Watch the fashion of celebrities, read fashion magazines and walk around the mall and check out the latest styles on sale. This will help you choose which styles you like and those you don't.

Remember that choosing a style is not just about being different. Choosing your own type of fashion should be about being comfortable and being confident in wearing your clothes. If you feel embarrassed or awkward wearing something, then that style is probably something you should avoid.

Finding a unique style that is just for you needs a lot of time, a lot of sweat, and probably a lot of misses. But if you have the will and the determination, you can certainly achieve that goal. Coming up with your own fashion style may not be a piece of cake, but it will definitely be worth the effort.

Why Do People Have Different Fashion Styles

The term fashion style simply refers to the way a particular person wears her/his clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories. It can also be determined by the types of clothing items that she/he wears in a given situation. Fashion styles may differ from one person to another because of so many reasons. It can because of a person's age, taste, gender, budget, the situation or the environment.

To start with, a teen's fashion style is definitely different from an adult. Teens are more prone to be influenced by magazines, famous celebrities, movies and their friends compared to adults. They also love to wear more colorful clothes and accessories which are in contrary to what adults wear. Adults prefer to wear clothing items with conventional color particularly when they are at work because such clothes are formal to look at. They also differ on their hair styles or on how they get their hairs done.

It is another fact that every person has different tastes not only when it comes to foods but also in clothes, shoes, bags, hair styles and accessories. There are people who love to wear different types of accessories like bangles, charm bracelets, necklaces and rings that match their outfits and there are those that are not brave enough to make a loud fashion statement. These people are the types that just want to keep everything simple but elegant. This simply proves that they have different fashion tastes and perceptions.

The gender of a person is another factor that sets a big difference in terms of fashion styles. It is evident that girls do not wear the clothes that boys wear. The same things apply to grown up women and men. This is basically the most obvious reason for such difference.

On the other hand, budget is another factor that contributes to the difference of people's styles. Basically, people who have bigger budgets allocated for their fashion styles can buy the clothes that they really want while those that are on tight budgets, they can just use their initiatives and creativeness to come up with something fashionable and stylish.

The situation or the environment can also affect a person's fashion style. Even if a person prefers a simple style, it is unavoidable that he/she has to be in events where he/she must dress up, wear crazy costumes and step out from his/her comfort zone. These events may refer to Halloween parties, masquerade balls and other gatherings. In these events, a person has to fit in the environment and dress up according to the theme of the gathering.

Being fashionable and stylish does not always mean that a person should follow the latest fashion style. Sometimes, it means that you have to be different and find the particular fashion style that fits him/her perfectly. And besides, why should a person base her/his fashion style on other people, magazines and movies when he/she can create her/his own?

Basic Wardrobe Planning is Easier If You Know Your Fashion Style - 3 Benefits & 8 Fashion Archetypes

Basic wardrobe planning may be more cohesive if you figure out your fashion style type. Some types of fashion, offered with the over-50 woman in mind, are:

arty or bohemian
sophisticated
sporty
suburban
professional
simply elegant (or elegant simplicity)
trendy or trend-setter.
romantic or sexy.

I call these fashion styles fashion archetypes, because they embody deeper needs and behaviors of our personalities. Expressing one of the types of fashion is a way of becoming the star of our own lives.

As we age, we may have to reassess our fashion style: The suburban mom takes a job and needs a professional wardrobe; the lawyer retires from her professional career and takes up her dream of landscape painting. The suits have to go.

Here are three advantages of basic wardrobe planning around a type of fashion that suits your personality and lifestyle:

Efficiency shopping and pulling an outfit together, even on the fly.
If you decide your fashion style is sporty, you're less likely to splurge on that emerald green, ruffled jabot blouse that you will only wear once a year. After all, it hardly goes with the khaki and charcoal cotton slacks that are the core of your comfortable daily uniform.
Spending limited wardrobe budgets on what will give us the most use. Basic wardrobe planning involves figuring out what types of fashion we most need. It makes sense to add a black skirt to our professional wardrobe when we understand we've got 18 tops and three jackets to team with it. Shopping for an item we might have spurned as too ordinary becomes a fashion triumph.
Feeling well-dressed and comfortable on every occasion. The best fashion advice for women is to decide what feels good and looks good on you. Your personal fashion style emerges from that. What looks and feels good changes over time. Periodic reassessment is essential.

Here's a summary of eight fashion archetypes.

ARTY/BOHEMIAN

The arty look is colorful, quirky, sometimes ethnic, and always fearless. Natural fabrics are preferred. A snowy white poet's shirt, an embroidered jacket that goes from work to art gallery reception, and a luxurious handbag are suggestions for the bohemian wardrobe.

SOPHISTICATED

The corporate executive wife and the charity fund-raiser are some typical lifestyle choices of women who express their inner creativity with sophisticated fashions. Wardrobe suggestions are a Chanel suit, a silk dress, gold cloche earrings and a diamond pendant necklace.

SPORTY

This fashion style is tailored. A blazer jacket is a must. It can be worn with a variety of durable, washable cotton pants, such as khaki, a good choice for the active, outdoorsy woman. Sweaters and sweater sets work well. A silk T-shirt adds sophistication. Avoid fussy prints and ruffles.

SUBURBAN

Suburban fashion goes from town to country with ease. She visits a corporate office in tailored slacks, a fuchsia shirt, an elegantly tailored long jacket, and pumps appropriate for lunch at a chic restaurant. Then she's off to a soccer game. The pumps are replaced by rubber-soled loafers, the jacket with a sweater. Pick garments for their versatility.

PROFESSIONAL

The professional fashion archetype loves suits - pantsuits for every day, skirt suits for court, a tuxedo suit for formal occasions, and a tailored dress when a skirt is a must. Choose suits and tops so you can mix-and-match for maximum versatility. Add an embroidered vest for pizzazz.

SIMPLY ELEGANT

If you've asked yourself What Would Jackie [Kennedy Onassis] Do?(book by Shelley Branch and Sue Callaway) Or What Would Audrey [Hepburn] Do? (by Pamela Keough), this is your fashion archetype. Stock your closet with solid colors and garments with simple lines such as the A-line, princess, and cheongsam dresses. Shop at designer consignment shops to achieve this look on a budget.

TRENDY/TREND-SETTER

The older woman who adopts the latest fashion trends may end up looking as if she is desperately clinging to her passing youth. For best effect, add fashion trends to classic costumes. For example, an outrageous jacket, with lots of bling and some feather accents, might be worn with simple black or white beneath. Experiment. Every fashion mistake can be changed tomorrow.

ROMANTIC

Flirty grows up after 50 or risks appearing as if life has passed her by. Ruffles, but not frills; clinging fabrics that hug curves without being skintight; and decollete that knows when to quit are hallmarks of the romantic fashion archetype. Strive for glamor and sensuality using texture and a bit of bling.

Take this fashion archetype quiz to learn more.

In summary, knowing and expressing your fashion archetype starts with identifying the fashion styles that fit your lifestyle and personality. Buy clothes that look and feel just right. Basic wardrobe planning is a snap when we build our clothes collection with our personal type of fashion in mind.
